Rainy Day is really starting to settle into her new home and has finally realized that keeping people at arms length makes for a lonely life. So, when Vivian calls her in a panic, she goes to see if she can help. The bank account for the Ladies of Latney has been emptied! But Vivian says they can't call the police and wants Rainy to look into it. She grudgingly agrees and soon finds she has several suspects and not many leads other than the obvious one - the person who signed the check and cashed the check - only she swears she didn't do it!Then there are still the 2 guys wanting a closer relationship - will she let one in or leave them still wondering?
I love this series and watching Rainy evolve into a member of the community.

Rainy moves to a new town to get away from murder and mayhem only to be coerced into finding out who took money from one of the town’s most revered organizations. Rainy would rather be getting to know her new next door neighbor Gunnar instead of solving a crime. But if the town wants the Fall Festival to go on, they need that money. Who of all of her friends is a thief? Read the book to find out. I received ARC of this book. The review is my own opinion and voluntary.
I love that Rainy can't keep herself from trying to get to the bottom of a mystery. Looking forward to the next book.

Rainy Day is someone I can relate to. She’s smart, down to earth, likes to bake, and loves a mystery! The story line holds my interest...so much so that I stay awake half the night to finish the book. Then it’s on to the next one!
Rainy Day is trying to find her way in a new town and when there is a mystery to be solved, the towns people turn to the outsider, Rainy Day. This is the fourth book in the series and the characters are evolving in a positive, fun way. It is well written and well worth the read.
In this latest adventue of Rainy Day, she is once again called on to solve a mystery - since people still believe that she was an investigator prior to moving to Latney. So many suspects to choose from that had motive to steal the money from the Ladies Society account. Does rainy discover the truth or does she lose her own money that she offers to cover the loss, so that the annual carnival will happen?
